Gilmore encouraged to celebrate International Day of People with Disability

Ann Sudmalis MP is encouraging clubs, schools, workplaces and businesses in Gilmore to hold an event to mark the 25th anniversary of International Day of People with Disability.

Mrs Sudmalis said thousands of events have been held across Australia since International Day of People with Disability was first observed on 3 December 1992.

“I encourage individuals and community groups in our area to accept the challenge and think of ways to promote a more inclusive Australia,” she said.

“Whether it is holding an awareness day at your local school, or hosting a morning tea at your workplace, this is your chance to help break down barriers for the 4.3 million Australians living with disability.”

“The International Day of People with Disability website is a great place to start for event ideas and resources to help plan your event,” Mrs Sudmalis said.

Register your event by visiting www.idpwd.com.au or calling 1800 440 385.
