More youth in jobs

The Member for Gilmore, Ann Sudmalis has welcomed data showing that youth unemployment has halved in the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands.

Mrs Sudmalis said,” the latest Laborforce data has shown that since the introduction of the $20 million Regional Jobs Investment Package, the Youth Jobs PaTH program, the Gilmore Apprenticeship Challenge, the Local Employment Initiative Fund and hosting a series of employment forums, my commitment to getting more people into work has delivered real results.”

“Youth Employment now sits at 85.9%, up from 70.7% this time last year, and our general employment is now at 92.2%.”

“We have seen an increase of over 3.8% in the total number of apprentices undertaking training when compared to data in 2017.”

“In July of this year the economy created 19,300 full-time jobs. The Government will continue to strive to increase employment in Australia.”
