More than 12 years ago, I stood with the NSW Shadow Minister for Ageing, the Hon Andrew Constance MP outside Barroul House in Kiama.

At that time, we were fighting to keep this heritage listed residence.

Recently I delivered $2.397 million in funding for the construction of the Community Hall and meeting rooms which is part of the Blue Haven Aged Care Facility of Excellence.

Kiama Municipal Council has been constructing the majority of the project, however the Barroul House upgrade, refurbishment and landscaping is currently unfunded.

The Council has applied for Building Better Regions Funding to complete this part of the Aged Care complex.

Again I went to see the Minister for Regional Development, the Hon Dr John McVeigh to advocate for this funding of $1.4 million.

While I continue to fight for this project, it would be good to know what you think should be my next project to work on, to improve living and working in and around Kiama.
